We have taken foster cats as well as our dog, Aura, to the Troy & Heights Animal Hospital, and each time has been a very positive and minimally stressful experience for us! We switched from a larger, busier, and yes also more equipped facility Vet's office after our dog began showing signs of fear and stress going there. The small office of Troy & Heights ended up being a blessing for our dog; there's not a big, echoing waiting area for her to be scared by and the rooms are small enough that she clearly feels safer. Staff carefully make sure no pets encounter each other in the waiting area if it can be at all helped, which is fantastic with our scaredy-dog! The Vets and Vet Techs are all so very kind and thorough, never startling or hurting our pets. (In fact, our dog now rushes towards the door, excited to see her Friends among the Staff here!) (Is this office less equipped than the old one? Yes. Do we care about that, given how amazing they are? NO.) Thank you, for helping Aura feel safe at a Vet office again! (And thank you for taking such good care of our sweet foster kitties, too!) We're SO happy we switched to Troy & Heights!

I have been going to this Animal Hospital for many years, and my dogs have always been treated like they were special. Every one that works there have always been kind and easy to talk to. I just brought in a new puppy and they treated him like he was special and not just a dog.

Awful experience at Troy and Heights animal hospital. Please look elsewhere, even if you can't get an appointment until a little further out. This place is operating like a scam to squeeze money out of you. We came here because our dog urgently needed a dental extraction and this was the earliest available appointment. Troy and Heights wasted 3 MONTHS of our time doing various blood tests, rounds of antibiotics, lyme disease tests, and kept telling me she has high inflammation and they need to rule out why before doing the procedure. All while she had a very obvious dental disease causing the inflammation. They forced us to get an ultrasound to rule out GI issues, saying they would not go forward with the dental procedure without it even though I insisted she had no GI issues. The ultrasound, as expected, came back with nothing, and they finally agreed to schedule her dental procedure. On the day of, they take her X-rays in the morning and tell me all is good to go and we can pick her up in the afternoon. 2 hours later, I get a call that her body temperature is 0.3 degrees lower than expected, and they would be cancelling the procedure to reschedule another 3 weeks out. "It might be because she's a small dog" I was told. Duh. She's 5 lbs. Just please do the procedure we've been asking you to do for months, I insisted, but nope. So now I have to drop what I'm doing to go to pick her up, and I ask to speak to the doctor. Apparently she's unavailable to speak with me while busy with other patients, even though she was supposed to be working on our dog at that time. I said I'll wait. She still won't see me. Ridiculous. I immediately call another office specializing in veterinary dentistry, and she is seen and operated on within 10 days, no questions about her GI or body temperature or any of the other nonsense Troy and Heights kept pushing on. I expected to pay a lot more than I would have at Troy and Heights, and the bill came back at the lowest end of the range that T&H had quoted me. She's now fully recovered, no inflammation, no more bad breath, and back to her normal, energetic self. Do your wallet and your pet a favor, and go literally anywhere else. This place is a scam.
